Neustadter Composes Score for Classic Silent Movie

Garth Neustadter, a senior double major in violin and voice performance, recently completed an entire orchestral score for the restoration of "The White Sister," a classic silent film from the 1920s. "The White Sister" is a silent film originally released in 1923, starring Lillian Gish, a renowned silent movie actress.

Video competition invites filmmakers to "think green"

The "Sustainable Lawrence" video competition is a competition between teams of students to create videos that will be used by the development office as tools to promote Lawrence as an institution whose environmental impact is being lessened through thoughtful and innovative initiatives.

LUCC's General Council met Monday, Jan. 12. The council discussed its upcoming presidential and vice-presidential elections, as well as cost-cutting measures to submit to the Board of Trustees through their Subcommittee on Student Affairs, which meets next week.

1965 Grant Provides Bikes for Rent

Soon, students and faculty will be able to rent bikes and ride them to Appleton destinations. Funded by the campus center and the Class of 1965 Student Activity Grant, bikes are available to rent with only an LU ID. Hayley Vatch, a senior involved with the project, said that 10 bikes will likely be available by the beginning of Spring Term 2009.
